Alan Miller, co-founder of Together Declaration joins Mike Graham to discuss reports the government is to give civil servants new powers to be able to “spy” on peoples’ bank accounts in a bid to crack down on fraud and money laundering.
Alan says, “We’ve seen big questions around the Civil Service doing things regardless of what the elected government says.”
They also discuss reports that the government has announced plans for a digital ‘wallet’ that would allow people to access digital versions of government documents, including a new digital driving licence, which will be possible to use for age verification in shops and pubs once introduced.
